Ye, I know Chaser. She comes round these parts every time Oasis swings by and she's a treat to talk to. The things she's seen, the places she's been - I swear each time she's back with a new Monster. Big ol' bat thing one time, giant lava shark the next, and she talks about these places she's gone too I've never 'eard of!
Like get this, Chaser says that far out to the south there's a lake that's so large it's not a lake at all, and it's all surrounded by darkness but she's been down there! And she found and tamed a Monster that lives in a giant shell like a house. Can you imagine that?
Then she said she's been to places with more trees than you can count with your bare eyes - places where the air is thick and there are Monsters like you'd never believe. I believe her, 'cause she's a badass, and if she says she met a Monster that was made of twenty trees drippin' in sap with dogs climbin' up them then I damn well believe her!
I 'eard Oasis is comin' back round in a month. Honestly can't wait to see her again and find out what she's learned this time. It's gonna be fuckin' amazin'.
– dialogue with a Wastelander, quoted in UMBA Champions: Where Are They Now?
“AND IN THE WEST SIDE WE HAVE AN ABSOLUTE TREAT, STRAIGHT FROM OASIS WE HAVE THE RETURN OF THE LEGENDARY CHASER. And her side for this Arena fight consists of the indomitable DEATHBREATH, the troublesome twins of BLUE EYE and GREEN EYE, and I hope you brought your dancing shoes because it's DISCO CRAB. This team truly a force to be reckoned with, and the question is whether the combined training power of Team Hexagon is enough to trump the sheer training majesty that is Chaser's personal team. I'm excited, you're excited, we're all excited - just look at their heads, they're excited too - so LET'S GET READY TO FIGHT!!!”
– excerpt from commentary for a Season 7 4v4 fight
“Right, you understand the plan?”
Green Eye nodded 👌, and scuttled away into the cave, leaving just Chaser and Deathbreath, standing in the cold of the deep dark cave. It had been weeks of tracking to get this far, but finally the Monster was in their grasp. The stories went that not only was this Monster a biological technological hybrid that any Monster Trainer would want to take a look at, but it had been terrorising a Wasteland village for years, and that was something Chaser decided was going to stop now.
Blue Eye had been sent out for reconnaissance and had come back shaken 😦 which confirmed Chaser's suspicion that she had to find out what this thing was, and so that meant that she, Deathbreath, the Eyes, Sapmoss, and Glassweeper had entered the cave system to try and find, observe, and eventually capture the thing.
They'd only glimpsed it once or twice - moving around cave corners, the sound of it eating something metallic - but that was enough for Chaser to start building up an idea of what this thing was. A plan formulated, and the trap was set. A delicious meal of metal Monster parts that were playing dead, and then they'd pounce with Sapmoss on the ceiling, Glassweeper there to snare the Monster, and Deathbreath to knock it out. It was textbook, and had Chaser been so inclined she could have written the textbook.
There was a tapping of metal claw on the floor from down the tunnel - Green Eye's signal - and so quietly Chaser took her place, ready to spring the trap. They waited, until the large shadow of the Monster approached. All her Monsters were deathly still as it approached Blue Eye, playing dead, and as it came close enough into the light, Chaser finally got a good look at it: a gigantic rodent with dark metal bionic augmentations around its eye.
“I know you…” she whispered, but didn't have time to contemplate before an almighty SQUEAK echoed through the cave, and Chaser's found family of Monsters like a well oiled machine, charged in, ready to adopt a new member.
